Plenty of sunshine will continue warming Tampa Bay well into the weekend, but a significant cool-down is coming.

Thursday should continue this week's trend of temperatures well above the average of 80 this time of year, with highs around 86 under partly cloudy skies and muggy conditions, according to the National Weather Service.

On the way to work, folks around Tampa Bay may notice patches of fog and high humidity, but these conditions should clear up by the late morning. There is a 20 percent chance of afternoon rain, but any isolated showers that pop up around Tampa Bay will be brief.

Overnight temperatures will drop to the upper 60s with high humidity and a partially cloudy skies.

High temperatures and high humidity are expected to continue into the weekend. A cold front is expected to push a few isolated showers and moisture-rich air into Florida by Saturday, but it isn't expected to make it as far south as Tampa Bay.

However, it will be followed by another, faster-moving cold front that will sweep into the region early next week. Lows Tuesday night will drop to near 50, with highs on Wednesday only reaching the low to mid 60s.
