5 things to do under $5: Bike to Work Day, Woofstock, Leonard Bernstein celebration

1Bike to Work Day: If you’re too nervous to face Tampa streets on your own, seven neighborhood meetup locations have been set up in South Tampa, Ybor and Tampa Heights for a Friday morning ride with experienced cyclists. Leaving at about 7:10 a.m., they will then head to Lykes Gaslight Park in downtown Tampa for a rally with exhibits, coffee and bagels. See bikewalktampabay.org for a map. Also that day, meet in the parking garage at University Mall for a free continental breakfast and coffee before riding your bicycle to work, 7-9 a.m. Then, return to the mall after work for happy hour specials at Studio Movie Grill, 4-7 p.m., 2200 E Fowler Ave., Tampa. Free.

2Leonard Bernstein Centenary Celebration: An evening of music and memories celebrating the launch of a new publication as part of the worldwide celebration of the 100th anniversary of Leonard Bernstein’s birth. Author and former music editor Charlie Harmon reads memoirs as pianists Paul Wilborn and Dale Williams perform famous Bernstein compositions. Donations accepted. 7 p.m. Tuesday. 3STEAM Festival: Public, private and homeschooled students are invited to explore science, technology, engineering, arts and math through children’s activities, music, demonstrations and themed exhibits. 5Woofstock: Bring your leashed dog for this festival on Saturday with live music, children’s activities, reduced-price vaccinations and microchipping, vendors and food trucks.
