A mix of draftees not in the system, minor-league players and invitees make up the Lightning’s roster for next month’s Prospect Showcase.

The players will hit the ice at the Ice Sports Forum in Brandon for practices at 2 p.m. Sept. 5 and 10:45 a.m. Sept. 6, then head to Tennessee for a tournament. The Lightning will play three games in the tournament, Sept. 7 against the Predators, Sept. 8 against the Hurricanes and Sept. 10 against the Capitals.

Practices will be open to the public. Tournament games will be streamed on tampabaylightning.com.

The roster totals 14 forwards, seven defensemen and two goalies. Fifteen of the players were drafted by the Lightning (going back to 2015), two are free-agent signees and six are invitees, including goalie Matt Greenfield from Parkland.

Highlighting the group are center Alex Barre-Boulet, voted last season’s AHL rookie of the year while at Syracuse, and Crunch defenseman Cal Foote.

Barre-Boulet in his first pro season last year tied teammate Carter Verhaeghe for the AHL goals title with 34 and led league rookies with 68 points.

Foote, also an AHL rookie last season, was part of NHL roster conversations for this season before the Lightning’s blue line got crowded with offseason signings.

Forwards Nolan Foote (Cal’s brother) and Gabriel Fortier, the Lightning’s highest draft picks the past two years, lead the group of 17 prospects who also participated in development camp in June.
