Florida Gators basketball starts sixth in preseason AP poll

Florida State wasn’t ranked but received votes.

The Florida Gators’ men’s basketball team will start the season ranked sixth in the country in the AP poll.

Michigan State took the top spot in the preseason poll, followed by Kentucky, Kansas, Duke and Louisville.

The rest of the top 10: Maryland, Gonzaga, North Carolina and Villanova.

Florida State was among the programs that received votes outside the top 25.
