Former Seminoles offensive tackle Josh Ball announced Thursday night that he will not return to Florida State.

Ball was suspended from school after a Title IX investigation found him responsible in a dating violence complaint. His then-girlfriend had accused him of physically attacking her multiple times in court documents.

"I have decided to stay closer to home and focus on being the best football player, student athlete, and person that I can be," Ball posted Thursday night on Twitter.

The Athletic reported recently that Ball intended to come back to the university and try to rejoin the team.

The 6-foot-8, 335-pound Ball started the final nine games of the 2017 season at left tackle.
