BRANDON — The death of a woman whose body was discovered Monday is now under investigation by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called to Clara Drive at about 10:20 a.m. to investigate a report of an “unresponsive” woman.

“When deputies arrived on scene it was apparent the female was deceased and had some upper body trauma,” said Hillsborough sheriff’s Capt. Preston Hollis in a Facebook video streamed from the crime scene.

Deputies secured the home and are obtaining a search warrant so they can start looking for evidence inside, Hollis said.

The Sheriff’s Office revealed no other details about the incident or investigation. The woman’s name was not released. The agency said there did not appear to be an “immediate threat to the public" but did not elaborate.
