Boy, 4, struck by pickup truck in hit-and-run crash in Pasco County

The child was flown to Tampa General Hospital. The Florida Highway Patrol is looking for the driver who fled.

HOLIDAY ― A 4-year-old boy was struck and seriously injured Thursday by a pickup truck in a hit-and-run crash, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The pedestrian, Joseph Soto, was flown to Tampa General Hospital for medical treatment. Meanwhile troopers are looking for a blue Chevy S-10 pickup truck.

The incident took place at about 4:38 p.m. while the child was walking on Excalibur Street, near Flora Avenue, according to the Highway Patrol. The pickup truck driver didn’t stop to help, troopers said, and instead drove off, last seen heading west on Gaslight Avenue.
