TEMPLE TERRACE — One person was killed and another wounded in a shooting that took place Tuesday night in an apartment complex east of the University of South Florida, according to police.
Now Temple Terrace police are searching for a green Kia Soul that was seen at the Boardwalk at Morris Bridge apartment complex at 8800 Boardwalk Trail Dr. the night of the shooting. The apartments are billed as housing for USF students and sits alongside the intersection of E Fowler Avenue and Interstate 75.
Police received a call about the shooting in the 8700 block of Boardwalk Path Drive at 6:29 p.m. When officers arrived they found one person fatally shot and another wounded by gunfire.
The second victim was taken to a nearby hospital for emergency medical treatment. Temple Terrace police did not disclose the names of either shooting victim, and on Wednesday did not disclose the medical condition of the surviving victim.
Officers are searching for a man who was seen driving a green Kia Soul at the apartment complex on Tuesday. That unidentified man is considered a “person of interest” in the case. No other information about the shooting was released by police.
