Last summer, Heart singer Ann Wilson told us she thought she and sister Nancy Wilson would play together again someday. She just didn't know when.
Guess that day wasn't as far-off as everyone thought.
After a three-year hiatus bought on by familial discord, Heart is getting back on the road this summer and coming to Tampa's MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre on Aug. 17. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday. Click here for details.
Sweetening the deal is an opening slot by another Rock and Roll Hall of Fame act, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, as well as Elle King.
But it's the return of Heart that everyone will be watching. The sisters Wilson had a falling out in 2016, when Rolling Stone reported Ann's husband got into a brawl with Nancy's children backstage at a show. He pleaded guilty to a pair of assault charges, and Heart took a long break.
"I could see it was time for Heart to have a break," Nancy Wilson said in a statement announcing the tour. "We'd been slogging through tour after tour fairly nonstop and were starting to burn out a little bit. Things had just reached a heavy climax."
"Both Nancy and I have stretched our wings in life these last three years," Ann said in the statement. "We've both lived and loved. We have breathed and traveled and experienced life. We come to this tour with fresh energy and oxygen."
