What’s in theaters: ‘Deadpool 2,’ ‘Book Club,’ a Pope Francis documentary and STEM movies

CinemaSTEM: Best in Show

Tampa Theatre is making science, technology, engineering and math the star of its new CinemaSTEM movie series. The historic movie house will pair popular films with experts talking about some of the science that pops up in the film. It kicks off Friday at 4 p.m. with Best in Show, the 2000 mockumentary comedy starring Christopher Guest, Eugene Levy, Jane Lynch, left, and a host of colorful characters sending up the dog show scene. After the screening, Jay Stutz, assistant curator of zoological operations at Busch Gardens, will discuss the psychology of dog training and offer tips to try at home. Next up in the series, when hurricane season is in full swing, see The Perfect Storm on July 13, followed by a talk by Fox 13 meteorologist Dave Osterberg.
