Two are dead after a three-car crash in Hillsborough County left one car overturned and another on fire early Sunday morning.

According to a news release from the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of a 2005 Ford van was headed southbound on U.S. 301 near Stacy Road. The driver of the van maneuvered the car into the northbound lane "for unknown reason," the FHP release said.

The van sideswiped one car, a 2004 Chevrolet, then crashed head-on into a 2014 Ford truck. The Chevrolet swerved off the road and flipped. The van veered off the road and burst into flames.

The drivers of the van and the Chevrolet were killed in the crash. The driver of the Chevrolet was not wearing a seat belt, according to the release.

Florida Highway Patrol has not released the drivers' names because the agency has not yet notified their next of kin.

The Ford truck came to a stop in the southbound lane of U. S. 301. The driver of the truck, 26-year-old Cory Morse of Plant City, suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Alcohol is not suspected to have been a factor in the crash, the release said.
