It's not Fleetwood Mac. But for some fans, it might feel pretty close.
Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie, two architects of Fleetwood Mac's mega-platinum sound, have announced a second leg of their North American tour in support of their dual self-titled album, and it includes a stop in Clearwater.
Buckingham and McVie will perform at Ruth Eckerd Hall on Nov. 9, according to their website. Tickets will start at $63.25 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Aug. 18. Click here for details.
While no version of Fleetwood Mac that doesn't include Stevie Nicks, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie will ever feel complete, the Buckingham-McVie pairing is a good one, uniting an all-world guitarist and an acclaimed songwriter-pianist for an album that feels fun, light and carefree. Their setlists of late have featured a number of "their" Fleetwood Mac songs, including Buckingham's Tusk, Never Going Back Again and Go Your Own Way; and McVie's Everywhere, You Make Loving Fun and Little Lies. And considering McVie had long retired from the road before rejoining Fleetwood Mac in 2014, any chance to see her live is worth catching.
And if you want to make a road trip of it, this is one of four Florida dates the duo has planned. The others: Orlando on Nov. 7, Hollywood on Nov. 11 and Jacksonville on Nov. 12.
