Tampa Pig Jig 2018 lineup: Chris Young, Deer Tick, more coming to Curtis Hixon Park

The little festival that could just keeps getting bigger.

The Tampa Pig Jig has just unveiled its most stacked concert lineup yet for its eighth edition, which returns to Curtis Hixon Park on Oct. 20.

Country star Chris Young (Think Of You, I'm Comin' Over) will headline the 2018 Pig Jig, along with fellow country singers Riley Green and Carson McHone, alt-rock bands Deer Tick and Futurebirds, singer-songwriter Brett Dennen and more.

With Young on board fresh off an arena tour, the Pig Jig might draw even more than the 8,000 fans who came last year. That would have been unthinkable in the Pig Jig's early days, when a group of childhood friends bonded together for a backyard barbecue fundraiser for a buddy who'd been diagnosed with a rare kidney disorder known as focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, or FSGS. The fest has grown so popular it now has a year-round component, a membership circle dubbed the Smoke Show Social Club.

HOOPER: Tampa Pig Jig expands its recipe for success

General admission Pig Jig tickets are $40 ($50 day of show), with some VIP tickets available. Kids under 12 get in free. The fest features games, outdoor TVs and lots of food and drink in addition to the music.
