Florida education news: Funding lawsuit, school names, missing money and more

FUNDING LAWSUIT: Florida Supreme Court justices gave few hints on their disposition as they pepper lawyers with questions in the state's long-running education funding adequacy lawsuit. The court must decide whether the constitutional mandate for "high quality" schools is clear enough to be judged.

SCHOOL NAMES: The Hillsborough County School Board will consider renaming a school that has been named after Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee. The mostly black community the school serves has asked for a change.

MISSING MONEY: A Pasco County elementary school principal is arrested on allegations he stole $900 from a student with a mental disability.

TEACHER PAY: St. Lucie County teachers negotiate one-time $850 bonuses, TC Palm reports.

MEDICAL MARIJUANA: The Volusia County School Board unanimously approves allowing students to use prescribed medical marijuana in school, the Daytona Beach News-Journal reports.
