Shop with Pride this weekend

WEAR THE RAINBOW: SHOP WITH PRIDE
Haven't got a stitch to wear to St. Pete Pride this weekend? Local artist and designer Chad Mize has you covered, literally. Each year, he makes new T-shirt designs for Pride, and he's back at it again with four new ones. "Gay Means Happy and I Am" will probably be the big hit, but let's not sleep on "Gay Mafia," in the design of the logo for The Godfather; "FemButch," done as a riff of the VonDutch apparel logo; and "Gold Star." Mize is bringing back "Gay Cities," which plays off his iconic "World Tour" design. Alas, "Gay Pride Cat," a big favorite from years past, is on hiatus.

While Mize will have the shirts for sale at Sunday's Pride Street Festival (at booth F34), they're also available now at the Mize gallery (689 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. N) and at the St. Pete Shirt Co. (655 Central Ave.), with whom Mize will share the festival booth.

As for the rest of your lewk, find it on Friday at the Skyway Marina Mall during their Skyway Has Pride event. The mall, which houses more than 60 shops, including vintage finds and artists, is going all out with a shop hop that includes free gifts with your purchase and a pride wheel. Drag queens, body painting, vinyl music trivia and a disco ball make it a party. Enter to win the You've Got Pride contest. 11 a.m.-7 p.m. 4301 34th St. S, St. Petersburg.

FEEL THE LOVE: PRIDE ART SHOWS
It only makes sense that an artistic city like St. Petersburg would have multiple art shows during St. Pete Pride. Visit these exhibits and consider collecting a new piece this weekend.
Pride Without Prejudice
The art show curated by John Gascot is split between two venues that are just a hop apart: the Cider Press Cafe (601 Central Ave.) and the Emerald Bar (550 Central Ave.). It features a number of local artists celebrating diversity in the LGBTQ community and beyond. On display through June 30.
