Meet beauty influencer Nicol Concilio and drop anchor at Ship Chic’s block party

BEAUTY INFLUENCER: MEET NICOL CONCILIO
Thanks to the magic of the internet, self-taught beauty vloggers have become so influential that major cosmetics brands are teaming up with them to create special products. One such vlogger is Nicol Concilio, who was tapped by Smashbox cosmetics to co-create limited edition Photo Finish primer waters. Concilio will make an in-store appearance at Ulta Beauty in Clearwater on Saturday, where a Smashbox makeup artist can help you achieve that perfect glow. An in-store purchase of Smashbox cosmetics is required to meet Concilio, and it would be wise to reserve your spot by calling (727) 724-6498. 2683 Gulf-to-Bay Blvd.

AHOY! SHIP CHIC BLOCK PARTY
It makes sense that there should be a local one-stop-shop for all things coastal, including apparel, accessories and home decor. That place is Ship Chic, and it’s having a huge block party Saturday and Sunday, with plenty of discounts, giveaways and free craft beer. Its parent company, Boaters Republic, is next door and in on the block party, too. You’ll find your fishing needs there, right down to the Yeti cup. Also under the Boaters Republic umbrella is Republic Paddle Company, celebrating a grand opening at 1540 S Dale Mabry Highway. It specializes in watersports equipment including kayaks and paddleboards.  The block party is 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at 2122 S Dale Mabry Highway.  ship-chic.com.

BE IN THE KNOW: MARKET NEWS
Tampa Indie Flea is Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Armature Works. Shop the curated selection of handmade goods, letterpress, succulents, art and jewelry. Then grab something yummy from food vendors in the Heights Public Market and enjoy the chill atmosphere. 1910 N Ola Ave., Tampa. armatureworks.com.

Downtown St. Pete's Saturday Morning Market is on a mission to end the use of plastic bags by encouraging shoppers to bring reusable bags. They've joined the Bay Before Bags initiative to educate marketgoers about the harmful effects plastic bags have on our oceans. Branded, reusable bags will be available for sale, and organizers plan to continue the campaign. Visit from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Al Lang Stadium parking lot, 101 First St. S.
