Bucs players nearly absent in AP All-Pro team balloting

The voting for the 2017 Associated Press All-Pro team has been released, and the Bucs had no players selected for the second year in a row, with linebacker Lavonte David as the only player to make it onto any of 50 ballots.

David got two votes — the only NFL teams with less of a showing in the All-Pro balloting were the Colts (zero) and Jets (one), with the Redskins matching the Bucs' total.

Defensive tackle Gerald McCoy, the team's only Pro Bowl selection, was not among the nine "interior linemen" to earn All-Pro votes on defense.

Last year, when the Bucs went 9-7, four players — receiver Mike Evans, McCoy, David and cornerback Brent Grimes — all made it onto ballots, though none made the All-Pro team. The Bucs haven't had a player make the All-Pro team since Doug Martin in 2015.

Which teams had the most collective votes from their players? Easily the Los Angeles Rams, who had 233 total, with running back Todd Gurley and defensive tackle Aaron Donald among the top vote-getters at any position. The next four? The Steelers (146), Jaguars (105), Patriots (99) and Vikings (97).
