This just isn’t the Jingle Ball’s year.
Three days after rapper French Montana bowed out of Sunday’s 93.3-FLZ Jingle Ball in Tampa due to illness, boy band Why Don’t We has canceled their appearance due to travel issues.
The popular group was scheduled to make an ambitious trip from New Zealand to Tampa in order to perform at the ball, but there was a mechanical issue with their plane, they said in an Instagram video, and would not be able to take off in time to make the show.
If you’re counting at home, that’s two of the Jingle Ball’s seven planned main stage performers who have had to bow out, leaving only Sam Smith, Lizzo, Normani, AJ Mitchell and Max. To help pad out the evening, 93.3-FLZ has invited singer Spencer Sutherland, who is part of a free pre-show outside Amalie Arena on Sunday afternoon, to open the show indoors on the big stage.
