You thought it was early to start talking about Christmas concerts in Tampa? How about one all the way out on Valentine’s Day?

On the same day the Trans-Siberian Orchestra announced their annual holiday shows at Amalie Arena, Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli has announced he’s returning to the same building on Valentine’s Day. That’s become something of a tradition, too, as Bocelli also played Amalie on Feb. 14, 2018, and Feb. 11, 2016 — not to mention various February shows across Florida dating back to 2011.

Obviously, Bocelli’s got a romantic voice, but why does he reserve all his V-Day love for the Sunshine State?

“I believe in the strength of anniversaries and celebrations, provided that they are filled with meaning,” Bocelli, who has a home in South Florida, told the Times in 2016. “I believe therefore in Valentine’s, a special occasion to celebrate love and reaffirm its strength to the people we love. My music choices are strongly linked to love — actually, I could say that I have set all of my life to honor, through songs, this feeling. The program of the concert will try to be, as much as possible, in tune with this sweet occasion."
